Almost all the people in corporate services have a phobia of presentations. Every now and then, they
have to go through some sort of presentations. Presentations become an integral part of their life.
So the first thinking that comes to presenters mind before presentation is how they appear in front
of the audience. This is very basic but very important for a presenter. As we all know of the famous
quotation, “First impression is the last impression”, how you appear gives the first impression about
you.
So today I’ll tell you about some clothing strategies that you must follow to create that first
impression.
Judge your audience first. You must know what kind of audience you are going to deal with.
Your presentation can be in front of either your peers or in front of clients. So if you are going
to deal with peers, you can go a bit casual but In case of clients, you need to be very choosy
while getting dressed for the presentation. Go for an eye soothing suit. When I say eye
soothing it means that no bright colours.
Now-a-days, wearing a tie is not so common, but I’ll recommend wear a tie. A presenter
wearing a tie always looks more formal and thus more appealing.
Your blazer and trouser must be of either same colour or similar colours. Don’t choose
contrast shades for these.
Your shirt should always be in contrast to your blazer. Try to wear light coloured shirt and
blazer and trouser in contrast to that.
Your shoes should also be chosen wisely. Many shoes make a weird sound while walking on
smooth surfaces. Make sure your shoes make no sound while walking on any kind of 1oor.
Use only a formal watch as an accessory.
All these together will definitely make you more appealing and your audience will listen to you more
carefully. Happy presenting.
